Charli Junker is a designer based in the St. John’s, Newfoundland area. A Toronto native, with strong European connections, she had the rare opportunity of being surrounded by luxurious spaces as a child. Her design calling began in 1998 when she started working at an upscale furniture, accessory, and textile company, first in Toronto and then in St. John’s, and focused on visual merchandising. While spending many hours creating picture perfect window displays, dreaming up colorful compositions and scheming showroom designs, Charli realized her love of decoration and design.
Following the completion of an arts degree in 2004, in an unrelated field, Charli fulfilled her passion and began Your Space Our Design- Interiors and Consulting. Since then, she has worked on over 80 projects ranging from full home renovations and new house builds to kitchen and bath designs to living spaces and much more. With clients all over the country, one project including a Calgary based condo, where she made an average space spectacular in only one week; Charli is well versed in projects large and small.

Your Space Our Design is built on the conviction that good design is found in the graceful composition of both traditional and modern elements, magnificent layering of color and texture, mixed with a splash of the unexpected. The results of her visions are timeless and interesting spaces with a personal appeal that is experienced and well respected by the client.
In 2016, Charli opened The Kitchen Design Boutique LTD., a retail company focused as a means to bring all of her favorite materials like tiles, hardwood, counter tops, cabinetry and lighting into one fabulous space. Having this retail space has really streamlined the renovation process for clients as they can sip on a hot bcoffee while browsing the hand-picked items in the boutique. “It’s quite an interesting and fulfilling process to come up with 3D plans, choose the finishes right in the boutique and then bring the whole project together with my trusted trades crew.” The end results have been featured in many media outlets, included national magazines and international design websites.
East Coast Living Magazine has featured Charli’s work since 2013, which first presented a colorful fireplace mantle display, and then again with a huge Topsail, Newfoundland renovation later in that same year. She has been featured in the publication numerous times since then and continues to grow consistently with each year. She also had the privilege to write a column for Home and Cabin Magazine and has been featured on their website several times as well as in their magazine publications consistently. Charli has also appeared on the hit television show Open House NL with design tips. With over 30 five star reviews and counting, it’s no secret that Charli’s work is sought out from clients across the province and country as a whole. Other things to add to her repertoire include, 10k saves on Houzz as well as the award for Best of Houzz for Service 5 times running. She was also nominated for RBC’s Women in Business Awards in 2019 and is rated as one of the top three designers on the trusted website ThreeBestRated.ca.
Charli’s work has been described as “traditional elegance mixed with a contemporary edge” and her use of color and space planning is stunning. All spaces are designed with functionality and aesthetics in mind and are transformed to reflect the client’s personality and tastes.

I worked with Charli fall of 2012 for main bathroom renovation. Bathroom was outdated with regard to design, colors, fixtures and furniture and Charli Totally revitalized it. A total transforamtion from a 20 year old bathromm to a new, modern spa retreat. Her talent is exceptional and she is very willing to work with what is availaible and your personal prefereneces as well as inputting her flare for design.
She is fantastic!

My husband and I hired Your Space Our Design to help with our new build in Southlands. Charli helped us choose everything that was required with a new build, including the cabinetry (kitchen & bathrooms), flooring, lighting, paint colors, appliances, furniture & furniture layout. She went shopping with us on numerous occasions to make our selections (including accessories), and then came to our house to help put everything in place. She was friendly and professional and was able to execute our vision perfectly! We have since hired her to help turn our basement into a comfortable, yet stylish family living area and to decorate our house for Christmas. Thanks to her we are living in our dream home! Your Space Our Design (YSOD) provided ID services for three properties I own during early 2011, late 2012 and late 2013, including cost of their services, and items purchased for the properties on their advice, the work in question entailed some CAD100k. Their work has been uniformly excellent, trouble free, and the results have always met my expectations.
The first property is a 2700 sf apartment in St Johns Newfoundland , very large by St.Johns standards, which had to be made-over as a high end rental ($5500/mth). YSOD provided all the ID services, from layout design, soft furnishings, interior color scheme (walls, flooring and kitchen cabinets), lighting fixtures and identified and purchased all furniture and display items. The condo has been universally regarded as very welcoming, projects an appropriate level of understated elegance, and and was immediately leased to the most prominent business person in the St.Johns, a VP of largest oil company of the world.
The second condo is located downtown Calgary and is my home. Its a $1M + property in one of the most sought after pieces of real estate and YSOD . YSOD undertook all the soft furnishings and provided finishing touches (lamps, throw cushions, bed linens, bathroom finishing etc etc and again gave the home a sense of restrained sophistication without sacrificing the welcoming warmth we were looking for in our home
Lastly, during this past September, YSOD undertook the ID work for a 2200 sf, three story townhouse in downtown St.Johns, This was intended as a mid range rental ($3500/mth) and again, the were able to step down their ID efforts and produce a result that returned the desired result for a lesser budget.
YSOD is able to take on turn key work (ID, coordinate with sub contractors, procure furniture and fixtures etc) and deliver a hassel free result. They are very responsive and I found them to be easily available on the phone and email and provided ID advice that aligned well with my expectations with very little recycle.

Charli provided yet another great experience for our new home construction. She is an extremely talented and gifted individual. Charli was involved in every step of the way and the outcome was a definate success.
She quickly picked up on my style preference, added her elegant touch and made our home BREATHTAKING. She created the house of our dreams!! Each room is its own masterpiece and the added “wow” lighting selection creates a lasting impression on anyone that enters our home.
